The classic patio atmosphere
Warm white is by far the most popular choice, and that is no coincidence. The light is soft and golden, making your patio look beautiful in the evening. These festoon lighting sets come complete, so you only have to screw the bulbs into the bulb sockets.
2200K or 2700K?
The colour temperature of white bulbs is expressed in Kelvin. We call 2200K extra warm white. This is similar to candlelight, with a slightly more yellow tone. If you prefer bulbs that are similar in colour to an incandescent bulb, still warm white but less yellow, we recommend a set with 2700K bulbs. Both create a cosy atmosphere, but 2200K is more pronounced, while 2700K is more neutral.
Which bulb do you choose?
The 0.7W bulbs with a transparent shade are among our best-selling bulbs. From a distance, they are almost indistinguishable from a traditional incandescent bulb. The 1W filament bulbs are also popular: they give a clear, warm light and are a real modern classic. If you want soft ambient lighting, 0.7W or 1W bulbs are the best choice. If you want more light, choose 2W bulbs.
Combining is allowed
You do not have to choose between warm white and colour. A festoon cable with mainly warm white light and an occasional coloured bulb can often look better than having every bulb in colour. These sets also work well in combination with our festoon light shades.
Automatic on
Take a look at a dusk sensor or smart plug, so you do not have to switch the festoon cable on and off manually. If you also want to control the brightness, take a look at our dimmable sets.
