General lighting that can withstand moisture

A ceiling light provides the main light in your bathroom, spreading light evenly throughout the room while sitting neatly against the ceiling. This is particularly useful in bathrooms where space is limited. The key consideration is the protection rating: always choose a light suitable for the conditions in your bathroom.

Which protection rating do you need?

That depends on where you plan to install the light. IP44 means the light is protected against splashing water and may be suitable for certain bathroom locations, depending on the applicable requirements. If you want to install a light directly above the bath or shower, check the regulations for that specific zone, as stricter requirements may apply. The product details list the IP rating of each light.

Soft or clear light?

Choose a model with a closed shade or opal-white glass to spread the light evenly and reduce glare while you relax in the bath. Keep in mind that a ceiling light directly above you can cast shadows on your face at the mirror. Supplement the main lighting with a bathroom wall light or an illuminated mirror for better visibility when shaving or applying make-up.

Limited ceiling height?

Many bathrooms have low ceilings or are located in the attic. A flush ceiling light is a good choice because it sits close to the ceiling. If you prefer discreet lighting that sits within the ceiling, bathroom spotlights are another option. Choose cool white light for clear visibility by the mirror or warm white light to create a more relaxing atmosphere around the bath.
