Extend rather than replace
If you are a metre short, or a part breaks, you don't have to replace your whole string light. Here you will find the separate parts you need to extend, adjust or repair your setup: connectors, end caps, power supplies and mounting materials. That saves money and avoids unnecessary waste.
Connecting
With a connector, you can join two strings together to create a longer line from a single plug socket. Make sure you do not exceed the maximum load, which is listed for each string in the product details. Only connect strings that are suitable for this, and make sure the connection is properly waterproofed when used outdoors.
Finishing and attaching
An end cap closes off the end of your string neatly and keeps it waterproof. Never leave an open end hanging outdoors. Use cable ties or clips to attach the string. Drape it loosely rather than pulling it tight, and never hang it from the end cap or the cable near the plug.
Power supplies
If your LED strip or rope light uses a lower voltage, you need a power supply or driver. Add up the load of the entire length and choose a power supply that can handle it. If you plan to extend it later, choose one with some extra capacity from the start. For outdoor use, pay close attention to the IP rating of the power supply, which indicates how well it is protected against moisture.
