Festoon light shades

Looking for shades for your festoon lighting? A shade turns ambient lighting into practical table lighting by directing the light downwards instead of all around.

Festoon light shades

From ambient light to table light

If you hang a festoon cable without shades, you mainly get a soft, atmospheric glow. Add a shade and the light becomes more practical: it is directed downwards, so your table is well lit. Ideal when you want to eat outdoors.

The hospitality look

A shade also gives your patio the familiar look you see at beach bars, outdoor restaurants and hospitality venues. It is this simple detail that makes a festoon cable look more professional and finished. You will find shades in various styles, from sleek metal to a warm rattan look.

Everywhere or only above the table?

You do not have to fit every bulb with a shade. A good option is to use shades above your dining table, where you need more focused light, and open bulbs elsewhere, where you mainly want atmosphere. This gives you two types of lighting from the same cable. Because you order the shades separately, you can decide where to place them and change the arrangement later.

Good to know

The shades are made from polycarbonate, making them almost unbreakable and suitable for outdoor use. Check the product details to make sure the shade is suitable for the type of bulb you are using. Our pear-shaped LED bulbs fit the shades best. Because the opening is relatively narrow, round bulbs do not fit all shades. If you want a soft glow that spreads in all directions instead, take a look at the lanterns. Looking for a complete solution? Then take a look at the sets with shades.
