Set the mood smoothly
The advantage of dimmable bulbs is that you can adjust the brightness to suit the moment: full light when you're busy, soft light when you're settling in for the evening. A dimmable E14 bulb lets you set it smoothly, at exactly the level you want.
You need a dimmer
You dim these bulbs with an external dimmer, also available in our range: a wall dimmer switch for fixed lighting, or an inline dimmer if you'd rather not change anything in the wall. Add up the load of all the bulbs on the circuit: with a multi-light lamp using small E14 bulbs, you can easily fall below the dimmer's minimum load, which can cause the light to flicker.
Prefer to go without a dimmer?
If you don't want to change anything in your wiring, a 3-step dimmable E14 bulb is a handy choice: you dim it with the ordinary on/off switch, across three fixed levels. Note that these bulbs are not compatible with an external dimmer, so choose deliberately: smooth dimming with a dimmer, or three levels without.
Where do you use them?
Mainly in multi-light pendant lights and ceiling lights with small glass globes, and in wall and table lamps. Choose warm white light (around 2700K) for a cosy atmosphere. With small shades, keep an eye on the size of the bulb too; that's listed in the product details.
