A counter plug allows you to make Festoon lighting cables and other electrical wiring connectable. Cut off the standard end of the Festoon lighting cable and then attach the counter plug.
If you cut the cord of a cable in half at any point, two wires will be exposed, the positive and the negative. Connect these to the counter plug. After installation, ensure that the connection between the cable and the counter plug is properly sealed against splashing water by using a heat shrink tube. Follow the instructions in the Manual for correct installation.
Please note that when used outdoors, the connection between the plug and the counter plug must be given extra protection against the weather. This can be done, for example, by placing this connection under a canopy or hanging it in such a way that it cannot collect and retain water. Alternatively, you can protect the connection with a large Heat shrink tube (not available from us). Although the product is splash-proof, it is less resistant to rain than, for example, our connectable Festoon lighting cables. For outdoor use, it is better to use our connectable Festoon lighting cables instead of installing a counter plug. This is because of the rubber in the connector that can be tightened on the connectable Festoon lighting cables. This provides greater protection.
