Practical base lighting
A flush ceiling light is mounted flat against the ceiling, without a pendant or cord in between. As a result, it barely protrudes and the space beneath it stays completely clear: exactly what you want in a hallway where people walk through, or in a space where work is done with materials. It is the most practical form of base lighting there is.
Where do you use them?
In hallways, stairwells, storage rooms, utility spaces, cellars and warehouses: anywhere the light mainly has to do its job and doesn't need to stand out. What to look for
Look at the light output in relation to the space, and at the light colour: for a work space, storage room or hallway, cool white is usually more pleasant than warm white. Pay attention to the stated protection rating (IP rating) if the space is damp or dusty, such as a cellar or outdoor storage room. Some models are available with a sensor, which is handy in a hallway where the light is otherwise easily forgotten.
