The lamp blends in, the light remains

White is the most discreet choice for an outdoor wall light. If you have a white or light-rendered façade, the lamp almost blends into it during the day, and in the evening only the light effect remains. This is exactly what you want if your façade is already beautiful in its own right, or if you want to hang several lamps without making the wall look busy.

Which façade does it suit?

White works particularly well with rendered, white or light-coloured façades, as well as modern or Mediterranean architecture. A white lamp, however, stands out strongly against a dark brick façade. That can be a deliberate accent, but it is worth keeping in mind. If you want the opposite effect, take a look at the black or anthracite wall lights.

The light effect on your wall

With a white lamp on a light façade in particular, the light effect becomes the main feature. A model that shines both upwards and downwards creates two beams of light on your wall, which works particularly well on render. A model that shines only downwards casts light onto your path or door in a more focused way. Choose warm white light for an inviting entrance.

What to look for

Pay attention to the stated IP rating, which indicates how well the light is protected against rain and moisture. Also keep in mind that a white lamp shows dirt more clearly than a dark one. On a north-facing façade or under a tree, it may need wiping down a little more often. Many models are suitable for an E27 or GU10 bulb.
