An outdoor wall light combines style with practicality. Fit one beside the front door for a welcoming entrance, or mount several along your façade for an atmospheric effect. Good outdoor lighting not only helps you see where you're walking, but it also makes your home feel more secure after dark.
Where do you find what?
Black lights are timeless and easy to combine. Anthracite is slightly softer than black, with a timeless look. White wall lights are light and fresh against a light-coloured façade. Stainless steel lights are particularly resistant to the weather. Wood effect gives your façade a warm, natural look. Models with a sensor switch on automatically as you approach. Solar lights need no cabling and can be placed anywhere. There are also surface-mounted and recessed versions, mounted on the wall or recessed into it.
Pay attention to the protection rating
Outdoor lights are exposed to rain and moisture, so always check the stated protection rating (IP rating) and make sure it is suitable for where you want to place the lamp. A lamp under a canopy has different requirements from one mounted on an exposed north-facing façade. If the lamp is close to the ground, where it may be exposed to splashing water, choose a higher rating.
Which light direction do you choose?
A lamp that shines both upwards and downwards creates two beams of light on your façade, making it an ideal choice for adding an accent along a wall. A model that shines only downwards provides directed lighting for your path or door and causes less light nuisance for neighbours. A closed shade with opal-white glass spreads the light softly in all directions.
Automatic on and off
Many of our models are available with a motion sensor, so the lighting switches on automatically as soon as someone approaches. If you would rather the lamp stay on all evening, a dusk sensor is more convenient: it automatically adjusts to the changing seasons. Many of our outdoor lamps are suitable for an E27 or GU10 bulb; there are also fittings with integrated LED. Order before 2pm for same day shipping.
