Put together your own festoon cable

With our separate bulb sockets, you can put together your own festoon cable. In combination with our cables without bulb sockets, you decide where the bulb sockets go on the cable and how many you need. This is handy when standard spacing does not suit your setup, for example if you want more light above the table and less further along the cable. The separate bulb sockets can also be used as spare parts for an existing standard festoon cable. You can choose from various types of bulb socket, including versions with an Allen cap, with screws and suspended bulb sockets.

Bulb sockets with an Allen cap or screws

For a festoon cable in the original style, you can choose from bulb sockets with an Allen cap or bulb sockets with screws. Both versions are easy to fit onto the cable yourself, and no electrical knowledge is needed. You fit the bulb sockets with an Allen cap using a 14 mm Allen key. With the version with screws, the bulb socket and cap are attached to each other with two screws. These bulb sockets also have two openings that you can use to hang the festoon cable from the bulb sockets. The bulb sockets are available in black and white and are supplied with a sealing ring. This ring is important for outdoor use: it helps protect the connection between the bulb socket and the bulb against moisture.

Suspended bulb sockets

Want to vary the look of your festoon cable? With our suspended bulb sockets, you can let the bulbs hang at different heights below the cable. The suspended bulb sockets are available in five different lengths, including 20, 30, 40 and 60 cm. Combine different lengths for a more varied look, or choose the same length throughout for a calmer, more streamlined effect. The suspended bulb sockets are supplied without a bulb. Self-assembly versions are also available in black and white.

Choose your own E27 bulbs

The separate and suspended bulb sockets are suitable for E27 bulbs. The bulbs are not included, so you can choose the look, light colour and brightness yourself. Choose, for example, from warm white or coloured bulbs. How many bulb sockets you need depends on how you hang the festoon cable: when you string the cable in a straight line, around two bulb sockets per metre usually gives the best effect.
