Making your favourite lamp dimmable
A cord dimmer lets you turn your favourite lamp into a dimmable one. You fit the dimmer into the cord, allowing you to operate it with your foot or hand without having to reach the wall switch. This makes it ideal for a floor lamp beside the sofa or a table lamp on the sideboard, so you can adjust the light from where you're sitting.
Silent and stable
The dimmers operate silently and help keep the light stable without flickering. You can set the minimum and maximum brightness levels yourself. This is useful if you notice a lamp becoming unstable at a very low brightness: simply set the minimum level a little higher.
Cord dimmer or floor dimmer?
You can choose from cord dimmers and floor dimmers in black and white. A cord dimmer sits halfway along the cord and is operated by hand, while a floor dimmer sits on the floor and is operated with your foot, which is handy with a floor lamp. Choose a colour that matches your cord so the dimmer blends in as much as possible.
Note: connect it yourself
The dimmer is supplied without a cord, so you'll need to connect it to the connection lead yourself. Keep this in mind when ordering, and if you're unsure, have it connected by a professional. A cord dimmer only works with dimmable bulbs. If you'd rather not connect anything yourself, an inline dimmer is an easier alternative.
