A recessed spotlight is built into a ceiling, cupboard or shelf. You only see the point where the light comes from; the fixture is barely visible. They provide bright light without taking up much space. These spotlights are often used in kitchens and bathrooms. A recessed spotlight can also be used to illuminate a bookcase or your (walk-in) wardrobe. Factors to consider are the recess depth and desired energy consumption. Do you want to use the spotlights in a damp room such as a bathroom or kitchen? Choose a spotlight with a minimum IP rating of IP44.
