This XMVK-as electrical cable is suitable for underground use thanks to its weather-resistant sheath and galvanised steel wires around the core. The waterproof electrical cable has three 2.5 mm² cores, allowing up to 25 ampere to pass through. This cable is suitable for light applications with a voltage of up to 450/750V and simple connections, such as installing sockets in a garden shed or barn.
Thanks to its good shielding, an XMVK-as cable is suitable for underground use. The core has an extra layer of galvanised steel wires. This means that the cable is protected against corrosion and is therefore less susceptible to external influences, such as moisture. The cable must be placed at least 50 centimetres underground, so there is little chance of the cable being damaged when digging in the garden, for example. The letters 'as' in XMVK-as stand for 'earth shield'. This means that the cable can also be earthed and is protected if it is damaged during excavation work, for example.
Underground power cables are ideal for use below ground, but can of course also be used above ground. Due to its sturdy shielding, the cable is not very flexible and the bending radius will be too large to neatly go around a corner. If you want to place electrical wires on the walls, it is best to use an outdoor cable. This can be connected to an underground cable, allowing you to run part of it underground.
